Patrons of The Ericht Trust

The Ericht Trust is incredibly grateful for the commitment and support of our patrons:

Sir William Macpherson of Cluny

Sir William Macpherson of Cluny is the 27th Chief of the Clan Macpherson. His family home is Newton Castle, Blairgowrie in Perthshire.

Sir William Macpherson was knighted in 1983 and in the same year he was appointed to the Queen's Bench in the High Court and was made Honorary Colonel of the 21st Special Air Squadron Regiment. In 1991, Sir William was appointed honorary fellow at Trinity College, Oxford.

He remains a member of the Royal Company of Archers, the ceremonial guard for the Queen in Scotland as well as a number of golfing and social clubs.


Brigadier Melville Stewart Jameson CBE, DL

Following a distinguished military career, Brigadier Jameson settled in Perthshire with his wife Sarah who is an artist.

Brigadier Jameson is a former Producer and Chief Executive of the Edinburgh Military Tattoo.

He is Lord Lieutenant in Perth and Kinross; and a member of the Royal Company of Archers, the ceremonial guard for the Queen in Scotland.



Allan Proctor

Allan Proctor, owner and Chairman of the A. Proctor Group Ltd, which is a large employer in the area. He has been an ardent supporter of local groups and of regeneration in the Blairgowrie and Rattray area.

Allan was born and raised in the Haugh, which is now the main office for A. Proctor Group Ltd.
