Another Special Award for The Ericht Trust

13th Feb 2015

The Association for Industrial Archaeologists have chosen the Ericht Trust to receive their special Initiative Award.

Following each of the annual conferences held by the Association for Industrial Archaeology, the AIA polls its participants and then decides to make two awards.
One is the President’s Award and the other an Initiative Award.

During the 2013 conference based in Dundee, a wide range of sites they saw during 15 different coach tours particularly impressed delegates.
They decided to award to the Ericht Trust of Blairgowrie and Rattray, the Initiative Award as a best exemplar that the AIA wishes to endorse.
The Trust is praised for identifying a superbly preserved historic printing works, and for arranging the filming of it in action.

The Honorary Vice President of the Association For Industrial Archaeology, Professor John Hume, will present the award later in the spring.
